Government Affairs

As a grower-owned cooperative, Blue Diamond works on behalf of our growers to advocate within the halls of government at the local, state, and federal levels. As the world’s leading almond marketer and processor, it is our responsibility to develop sound government affairs strategy for our cooperative, grower-owners, employees, and business operations. Our goal is to create effective regulatory and legislative policy by telling the cooperative story and educating key audiences on the almond industry and Blue Diamond. The collective voice of our 3,000 growers affords us the position of industry and advocacy leader within California and Washington, D.C, and provides us the opportunity to build relationships with representatives who want to help Blue Diamond continue producing the best quality and safest almonds in the world.

At Blue Diamond’s 115th Annual Meeting, growers attended an enlightening industry affairs session. The panel, moderated by Matt Efird, Blue Diamond board director and PAC Committee chair, brought together Clarice Turner, president & CEO of Almond Board of California, Alexi Rodriguez, president & CEO of the Almond Alliance, and Alicia Rockwell, Blue Diamond chief government and public affairs officer. The panel discussed the industry’s most pressing challenges from crop estimates and regulatory pressures to trade, tariffs, and global market growth. The team shared how collaborative advocacy and coordinated strategies are strengthening the industry and creating new opportunities for California almond growers.

United States Capitol Political Action

The Blue Diamond Political Action Committee allows our grower-owners to have a collective voice in California and Washington, D.C. Through the PAC, Blue Diamond can harness the power of our grower-owners to build relationships and support elected officials who are champions of agriculture and the almond industry. By maintaining a strong Blue Diamond PAC, we can preserve the Cooperative’s collective voice and the Blue Diamond legacy.
